Free Shaka Shakur – Take Action with UPROAR

Help Free Shaka A. Shakur

Shaka Shakur is a New Afrikan freedom fighter and grandfather who has spent more than two decades behind bars. The Free Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign is asking all supporters to flood Lake County (IN) Prosecutor Bernard Carter with respectful letters urging him to modify Shaka’s sentence and release him. Let’s add UPROAR’s voice to the chorus!

⏱ Quick impact, big payoff: the campaign’s built-in letter tool sends the message straight from your e-mail address to the prosecutor’s office. Personal tweaks are encouraged but not required.

Why now? Shaka has already served the time Indiana’s own statutes consider complete. The original victim does not oppose release, and Shaka’s decades of peer-led education prove his commitment to community healing. Prosecutor Bernard Carter has the power—right now—to file a sentence-modification motion. Our collective pressure can tip that scale.
