Cameron X. Harper was found guilty of a weapons charge after an Aug 5, 2025 knife-plant at Keen Mountain CC (appeal pending). An earlier Code 105 “assault” from May 20, 2024 at Greensville was overturned, yet it’s still being used to restrict his visitation and inflate his security score—raising the risk of a Supermax transfer.

Where/When: KMCC, B-4 tier, Cell B4-12, ~2:53 p.m.
Drug-dog sweep: prisoners lined up for a search. Cellmate Ragee Smith verbally abused Sgts. Ramey & Peck; Cameron remained silent & compliant.
Sgt. Shawn Ramey asked Cameron’s bunk. Cameron said bottom bunk.
With body-cam OFF, Ramey placed a knife on the top bunk (Smith’s), turned camera ON, and radioed a “weapon discovery.”
Cameron & Smith both charged with a weapons offense and a gang offense (Code 102, sometimes mislogged as 125A).

Procedural irregularities:

Body-cam reportedly activated after the knife was placed.
Knife found on top bunk (Smith’s), yet both charged under “common area.”
Cameron’s music notebook & folder seized as “gang paraphernalia.”
Unit Manager Mr. Cole took no action after Cameron reported the plant.

Status after hearing (Aug 28, 2025): Cameron was found guilty of the weapons charge despite irregularities; the gang allegation was dropped. Appeal pending. Guilty finding inflates points and raises Supermax transfer risk.

Preserve evidence now: fixed-camera & body-cam video (2:30–3:30 p.m., Aug 5), bunk roster, charge packets, camera audit logs, K-9 logs, radio logs, watch-commander logs, property chain-of-custody.

⚠️ May 20, 2024 — Greenville Beating & False 105 Assault

Trigger: Officer Jay Barber ordered a second strip search after visitation; Cameron refused.
Barber punched Cameron, pinned him with knees on his neck. Cameron couldn’t breathe and pushed up to get air.
Sgt. Haskins pepper-sprayed him; multiple staff joined in the beating and dragged him half-naked (“like a limp noodle”).
In solitary: placed in hot water (reactivating spray), doused with milk, then strapped in a restraint jacket for 24–25 hours without bathroom or medical care.

Family alarm & transfer:

Prisoner Joseph Hunt phoned Melinda urging her to call police because Cameron was being harmed.
When she called Greenville, Lt. Spatorico hung up. Warden McCoy and Anderson approved a midnight transfer.
On May 24, 2024, Cameron was driven to Red Onion by Lt. Spatorico, threatened with worse if he resisted.
At Red Onion, staff denied hygiene items; Officer Grayson Miller sexually harassed him, tugging at his genitals while laughing.

The 105 Assault Charge:

Staff flipped the event into a Code 105 (assault) against Cameron.
The 105 was later overturned at DOC HQ after Melinda filed appeals and pressed officials.

How the overturned 105 still hurts him:

Visitation & privileges remain restricted at Keen Mountain because the administrative file was never corrected.
Residual 105 entries continue to influence classification and program access.
Combined with the Aug 5 “weapons” guilty finding (appeal pending), this inflates points and raises Supermax risk.
Staff at Red Onion treated Cameron as if he had actually assaulted officers — using the 105 “assault” label to justify threats and harassment. This shows how even vacated charges shape day-to-day treatment and retaliation.

Impact on Melinda:

Repeated stonewalling by facility staff; hung up on and given evasive answers.
Ongoing burden of appeals, FOIAs, HIPAA releases, and formal letters just to enforce the overturned status.

• The 105 (assault) charge from Greenville, May 20, 2024—where Mr. Harper was the victim of staff brutality—was overturned at DOC headquarters. However, Keen Mountain staff continue to use this vacated charge to restrict his visitation and privileges and to inflate his security level.  
• His music notebook and a manila folder were misclassified as “gang paraphernalia.”  
• Mr. Harper has PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and ODD. Since these false charges he has experienced worsening psychiatric symptoms. Only a brief hallway check occurred—no full psychiatric evaluation, therapy, or medication review.

Requested actions:
1) Vacate or grant immediate relief on the Aug 5 “weapon” disposition; restore any lost good-time and enter an exoneration notation to prevent classification retaliation and Supermax escalation.  
2) Correct the administrative record to fully remove the overturned 105 (assault from Greenville). It must not be used to restrict visitation, privileges, or classification level.  
3) Preserve all fixed-camera and body-cam video from 2:30–3:30 p.m. on August 5, 2025 (B-4 and Cell B4-12), plus bunk roster, charge packets, camera power-state/audit logs, K-9 logs, radio logs, watch-commander logs, and property chain-of-custody.  
4) Investigate Sgts. Shawn Ramey and Fleming, and any approving supervisors, for their roles in this incident.  
5) Transfer Mr. Harper to safe, non-retaliatory housing and provide an immediate comprehensive psychiatric evaluation; return his music notebook and folder.

• On May 24, 2024, Lt. Spatorico transferred him at night to Red Onion with McCoy and Anderson’s approval. There he was threatened with violence and sexually harassed by Officer Grayson Miller. These threats were rooted in the false 105 “assault” label.

1. Independent investigation of the Greenville assault (Barber, Haskins, Spatorico, McCoy, Anderson) and Red Onion harassment (Miller).
